Vacancy: Marine Technician

As a Marine Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, overhaul, and efficient operation of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and auxiliary systems aboard yachts and vessels. You will ensure that engines, generators, propulsion systems, gearboxes, and onboard engineering systems run smoothly and safely whether performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting breakdowns, or handling major overhauls and sea trials. You will work onshore on regular day working times. This postion requires moving to Dubai permanently and is a monday-friday job so no rotation.

The Job

You will work mainly on large 12- and 16-cylinder diesel engines from leading manufacturers such as MTU, Caterpillar (CAT), MAN, and Volvo. Besides engines you will work as well on generators, gearboxes, propulsion systems, and auxiliary equipment. This is a hands-on technical position within a high-end yachting environment.

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on main engines, generators, and propulsion systems
  • Diagnose mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and auxiliary system faults
  • Carry out repairs, component replacements, and engine overhauls
  • Install, commission, and test engines, generators, and related systems
  • Work on propulsion drivetrains including ZF and Reintjes gearboxes
  • Maintain engine rooms in line with safety and operational standards
  • Assist with sea trials, system testing, and final handovers
  • Complete service reports, maintenance logs, and technical documentation

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a marine technician or marine engineer
  • Strong hands-on skills with large diesel engines (12/16 cylinder)
  • Background in superyachts, commercial marine, offshore, or power generation
  • Good understanding of the English language
  • Willing to work on-site in Dubai
  • Certifications to work on MTU 2000, 4000 or Caterpillar 3512, 3516, C32, C18, C9 engines.
  • Experience with ZF and/or Reintjes gearboxes is a strong advantage
